Terms & Conditions

Effective date: 2026-10-24 · Last updated: 2026-10-24

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ClipVeil service, a video redaction platform available at clipveil.com (the "Service"), operated by an individual seller based in Mainland China ("ClipVeil", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, purchasing a plan or minute pack, or using the Service in any way, you agree to these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and our Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who you contract with — and how payments work

The Service is operated by an individual seller based in Mainland China. There is no company registration number; the operator's identity and address were provided to Paddle for merchant verification and are available on written request via the contact below.

Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all purchases made on this site. Our orders are processed and billed by Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle"), acting as Merchant of Record in accordance with Paddle's current merchant terms. For every purchase of a subscription or minute pack, Paddle is the seller of record: it processes your payment, collects and remits applicable sales taxes and VAT, issues invoices and receipts, and handles returns, refunds and chargebacks under Paddle's own terms and policies. By completing a purchase you also agree to Paddle's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, published at paddle.com.

These Terms govern your use of the Service itself. Where a payment matter conflicts with Paddle's terms, the payment matter follows Paddle's terms.

2. What the Service does — and what it does not promise

ClipVeil helps you redact identifying content in event footage before you share it:

  1. You upload event footage — direct uploads of up to 10 minutes and 500 MB per file, or a clip of up to 15 minutes selected from a longer source recording.
  2. The Service prepares a review copy, automatically detects and tracks heads in the footage, and proposes redaction regions.
  3. You review the proposal in the workbench: choose who to mask or keep visible ("mask all" or "mask selected" modes), merge or split person groupings, add manual fixed or tracking redaction regions, and set audio treatment (mute, beep, or keep).
  4. The Service renders a result file with destructive redaction (pixelation or Gaussian blur) burned into the picture, with device and location metadata removed.
  5. You can share a result as a time-limited (24 or 48 hours), read-only link that carries a moving watermark showing the recipient's name. Playback runs through the Service, which validates the share token on every request.

Honest limits — part of the deal, not fine print:

  • Automated detection and tracking are not perfect. Missed detections and imperfect person associations can occur, and the Service records such anomalies for your review. You are responsible for reviewing each result before sharing it.
  • Redaction is destructive and irreversible: the exported file contains no removable mask layer and no data for restoring the masked regions. However, this does not guarantee anonymity against every possible identification method.
  • We cannot prevent screen recording or external filming of a delivered copy, and we cannot remotely erase bytes already delivered to a recipient. The watermark identifies the intended recipient but does not prove who actually watched the video.
  • Selecting a review mode is a processing decision, not a legal compliance guarantee.

3. Accounts

  • Sign-in is email-only. The Service sends a one-time verification code to your email address; there are no passwords and no third-party sign-ins. You must control the mailbox you sign in with, and you are responsible for keeping that mailbox secure.
  • Each account has one personal workspace, identified by your verified email address. Workspace resources (uploads, jobs, results, shares, audit records) are isolated per account; cross-workspace access is uniformly rejected.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
  • You may close your account at any time from the account settings page (after re-verifying your email). Closure is immediate and irreversible: sessions, API keys and active share links are revoked, and your media is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Your content

  • You keep ownership of all videos, recordings and other material you upload ("Your Content").
  • You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process and derive redacted outputs from Your Content, solely to provide the Service to you.
  • You represent and warrant that you have the rights to upload and process Your Content, including any personal data of identifiable persons in the footage, and to share the resulting files with your chosen recipients.
  • Recipient names you enter when creating a share link are used only to burn the watermark and to keep your share records.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • upload content you do not have the right to process, or content that is unlawful;
  • attempt to access, scan or probe other users' workspaces or resources;
  • abuse the verification-code system, share links or any rate limits;
  • scrape, reverse engineer, overload or otherwise interfere with the Service, or bypass security controls;
  • resell access to the Service without our written agreement.

We may apply rate limits, and may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the Service, proportionately to the abuse. If you believe your account was restricted in error, contact us at [email protected].

6. Plans, metering, and billing

Free first-use grant. On your first sign-in, the account receives a one-time grant of 10 metered minutes, valid for 30 days, usable for media up to 1080p. The grant is issued at most once per verified email address across account lifecycles — closing your account and re-registering does not grant it again. It involves no payment and expires naturally.

Subscriptions (self-serve).

PlanPriceMonthly metered minutesResolution ceiling
PersonalUS$19/month or US$190/year1001080p
ProfessionalUS$49/month or US$470/year5004K

Enterprise plans are quoted on request; the enterprise path involves no online purchase.

Minute packs (one-off top-ups). 10 minutes for US$9.9, 50 minutes for US$39, and 200 minutes for US$129. A pack is valid for 12 months from purchase, is consumed after the free allowance and the current monthly quota, and is never auto-repurchased. Multiple packs are consumed earliest-expiry-first, and we warn you before a pack expires.

Metering. The Service meters the actual duration of the event clip processed, per second, and displays durations in rounded minutes. Only successfully completed jobs are deducted; failed, cancelled or unfinished jobs are never deducted, and each job is deducted at most once. Review, export, sharing, audition and retries of the same job are not metered again.

Quota mechanics. The monthly quota resets at each natural month (UTC) and does not roll over. Before a job is created, the Service checks that your total available allowance (free grant + current-month quota + pack balance) covers the probed duration; if not, the job is not created and nothing is charged. If a job completes after other jobs consumed part of the allowance checked earlier, the shortfall never becomes a charge or a debt.

Resolution gating. Media above 1080p requires the Professional plan; media above 4K is rejected at creation with guidance to contact us for an enterprise inquiry. Resolution is assessed by the smaller of the media's probed width and height.

Pricing and tax. All prices are quoted in US dollars only, tax-exclusive. Paddle determines, collects and remits applicable taxes at checkout and issues your receipt. Plan and price data come from our published catalog; a catalog change affects new purchases only — an already-paid period keeps the entitlements of the catalog version approved at its purchase time.

7. Subscription lifecycle

  • Renewal. An active subscription renews automatically through Paddle at the end of each period until you cancel. If a renewal payment fails, Paddle's retry behavior applies; we never make additional automatic charges beyond the subscription price.
  • Cancellation. You can cancel any time from your account page. Cancellation stops future renewals immediately; your remaining benefits (quota, resolution ceiling) stay available until the end of the paid period. See the Refund & Cancellation Policy for refund terms.
  • Plan changes. This version has no automatic tier upgrades, downgrades, or monthly/annual switching, and no proration: to change plan or billing period, cancel your current subscription (benefits continue to period end) and purchase the new one.
  • Account closure. Closing your account ends your subscription immediately and voids any remaining minute-pack balance, without refund (see the Refund & Cancellation Policy).

8. Sharing

Share links are valid for 24 or 48 hours from generation, cannot be extended, and their tokens are invalidated on re-issue, revocation or expiry. Playback is app-mediated; direct download entries are disabled. You are responsible for choosing recipients and for the decision to share. Once a copy has been delivered to a recipient, its bytes cannot be remotely erased.

9. Service availability and changes

We provide the Service on a commercially reasonable basis. We may perform maintenance, and features may change or be discontinued; where a change materially affects a paid entitlement, the entitlement of an already-paid period is honored to its end. We may update the plan catalog; changes apply to new purchases only.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, models and design, is owned by us and our licensors. Except for Your Content and these limited licenses, no rights are transferred to you. You may give us feedback; we may use it without restriction or compensation.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", to the fullest extent permitted by law. We disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that detection is complete, that redaction defeats every identification method, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for claims arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the total fees you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

13. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from Your Content, your sharing decisions, or your breach of these Terms, except to the extent a claim arises from our breach of these Terms or applicable law.

14. Term and termination

These Terms apply while you use the Service. You may stop at any time by closing your account. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach (with notice where practicable) or where required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, governing law) survive.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be signaled by updating the "Last updated" date and, where reasonably practicable, by notice in the Service or by email to account holders; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. Prior versions are available on request.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Mainland China, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts at the operator's domicile have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer with mandatory protections under your local law, those protections are unaffected.
